CHRISTINA MAUD SARGENT (nee YOUNG) Peacefully on March 7, 2001, with her family at her side, Christina passed away at the age of 71 years. Christina was born in Winnipeg on December 13, 1929 where she resided all her life. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Robert of 48 years on January 22, 2001; her parents John and Ellen Young. She will be sadly missed by her loving children, Ellen Tachauer (Joe) in Stratford, Ont., Sheila Sargent (Real) in Ste. Anne, Man., Gordon Sargent (Carmelle) in Winnipeg, Man., two grandchildren, Ian and Lisa Tachauer. She is also survived by her sister Gladys Pare and brother John Young. She worked for Eatons Mail Order as a secretary. She was a Charter member of the Eastern Star for 30 years and gave of her time volunteering as an assistant in several school libraries in Windsor Park and St. Boniface. She loved to bake, always making tasty care packages for her children. She enjoyed embroidery, doing hook rugs and crocheting. Christina loved the outdoors and gardening. She will always be remembered for being a very gentle, caring and compassionate person with a great sense of humour. She will be missed by all who knew her. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to all the Doctors and staff of the eighth floor, Palliative Care Ward of the St. Boniface Hospital for their care and compassion. In keeping with Moms wishes, cremation has taken place and no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of ones choice.
